One of the possible new audio products from Apple has appeared in the FCC Regulatory database according to a report from Apple Insider. The product is listed as ‘Beats’ Studio buds‘that could be the real name of the product. However, apart from the likely name and a diagram with reference numbers A2512 and A2513, little has become known.
The FCC filing includes PDF documents under the tags Bluetooth Test Report, Bluetooth LE Test Report, RF Exposure Information, FCC ID Label and Location, Confidentiality Request Letters, Authorization Letters and Attestation Statements.
Reports had previously surfaced claiming Apple was working on new Beats earbuds that would have a similar form factor to the AirPods. The images first seen by MacRumors showed that the earbuds could start up in white, black, and red color options. The FCC filing appears to have confirmed it, although there is no official Apple world.
Technical analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had claimed in one of its predictions that Apple has no plans to send the next-generation AirPods into production until the third quarter of 2021. Kuo also predicted that Apple could see a decline in headphone shipments this year due to increased competition in this category. He added that the tech giant may also plan not to stop selling the second-generation AirPods when the new AirPods arrive. Apple’s move to bring true wireless earbuds to the Beats range is holding up well against competition with rivals. While there were TWS earbuds from Apple under the AirPods brand, the Beats Studio Buds were supposed to help Apple consolidate its position and fend off rivals.
