NEW DELHI: Last year with iOS 14, Apple Introduced a feature that allows users to view the air quality in the Weather app. At the time of launch, functionality was limited to a few regions.
With the first beta of iOS 14.7, the company is expanding the function to other countries. As reported by 9to5Mac, many Reddit and Twitter users have shown that they can now use the feature in the Ob app. With the introduction of the Air quality characteristic in the Netherlands, France, Italy, Canada and Spain.
Air quality measurements in the United States are based on an Air Quality Index (AQI) between 0 and 500. The lower number in the index represents better air quality and higher numbers are considered unhealthy.
The air quality information is displayed in a colored bar in the weather app on the iPhone. In addition to the weather app, the air quality information is also displayed on Apple Maps.
Recently, Apple announced a number of new features designed with people with mobility, visual, hearing, and cognitive disabilities in mind.
Starting May 20, Apple will launch SignTime, a new service that Apple customers can use to communicate using American Sign Language (ASL) in the US, British Sign Language (BSL) in the UK, or AppleCare and Retail Customer Care in French Sign Language (LSF) in France via web browser. Apple plans to roll out the same support in other countries.
The company will be rolling out software updates for all Apple operating systems later this year to enable these features.
