NEW DELHI: Technology giant Apple reportedly considering adding Health tracking functions to his AirPods.
As reported by MacRumours, analyst Ming Chi Kuo revealed in a recent investor release that Apple may include health monitoring features Apple AirPods to give rivals like competition Samsung.
Kuo stated that Apple AirPods sales are expected to decline this year, which is why the company will be looking for new ways to innovate and encourage people to buy future AirPods. According to Kuo, AirPods shipments are expected to drop 25% year over year from Q1 through Q3.
Kuo added that the AirPods Max, which the company launched last year, didn’t really add to the growth in AirPods sales.
According to the report, Kuo suggests the decline in AirPod shipments is due to increasing competition in the market. The increasing number of affordable true wireless earbuds on the market is one of the reasons why AirPods sales have dropped.
According to the report, “this situation is likely to encourage Apple to implement new, compelling technology on AirPods,” Kuo said. That is, health management features that Apple has had extensive experience with through the Apple Watch. ”
The report adds that it is currently unclear what health features will be included in Apple AirPods.
Kuo also mentioned that the company will begin mass production of third-generation Apple AirPods in the third quarter of this year. However, the updated AirPods are not expected to include a health monitoring feature this year.
