Facebook’s own photo sharing app Instagram has rolled out the support from Insights for roll and Live to help developers and businesses “better understand and evaluate their performance on Instagram”.
The company said it is doing this to enable developers and businesses to understand how their content is performing.
For Reels, for example, Instagram shows new metrics, including games, accounts reached, likes, comments, saves and shares. In terms of Lives, the app shows achieved accounts, concurrent simultaneous viewers, comments and approvals.
All of these new metrics will also appear in Account Insights. In terms of Account Insights, Instagram has added new breakdowns that provide visibility into what types of account creators are being reached and what content formats Reach is most effective in controlling.
Over the next few months, Instagram will also be rolling out new preset time frame options in Insights that go beyond the last 7 and 30 days.
The platform will also support Insights on the desktop.
Recently it was reported that Instagram is testing the option to post from a desktop site.
Tipper Alessandro Paluzzi shared the update via a tweet in which he said that this feature is currently being tested internally.
To post from the Instagram desktop website, you need to click the button at the top of the desktop view (a “+” symbol in a rounded box).
Desktop users can drag and drop pictures and videos onto the site. You also get image editing support for cropping images and applying filters.
