NEW DELHI: LeicaThe manufacturer of cameras in the premium segment would like to enter into a partnership with a new smartphone manufacturer.
GSMArena reported, citing insider sources, that the partnership between Huawei and Leica is coming to an end. The Huawei The P50 will be the company’s last smartphone equipped with a Leica camera.
GSMArena quoted a series of tweets from a tipster and reported that with the end of this partnership, Leica was looking for a new smartphone manufacturer. The report adds that the camera manufacturer is considering this Xiaomi, honor or sharp.
The partnership between Leica and Huawei began in 2016 with the launch of the company’s Huawei P9 smartphone. Leica contributed to the image processing, the design of the camera module and the design of the user interface for the smartphone.
So it will be interesting to see who will be the next smartphone that works with Leica.
OnePlus, another smartphone maker, recently partnered with Hasselblad for its OnePlus 9 smartphones. All three smartphones in the OnePlus 9 series are equipped with a Hasselblad camera.
The latest report from research firm Strategy Analytics found that Huawei is no longer on the list of the top five smartphone companies in the world.
The report reveals that the company is no longer on the list and has been defeated by rivals from the same country. Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo are now in third, fourth and fifth place.
Vivo saw the highest total annual growth of 85%, followed by Xiaomi, which grew 80% compared to Q1 2020.
