The company has also confirmed that it will be a phased introduction. The first wave of companies to receive the update includes Bangladesh, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Macau, Nepal, the Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam. The 10% units in these markets will receive the update immediately and 100% will receive the update by April 12th. The other countries will then receive the update in the second wave.
HMD Global launched the Nokia 8.1 smartphone in 2018. This is the second major software update for the smartphone as it received an Android 10 update last year.
The Nokia 8.1 has a 6.18-inch Full HD + display with a resolution of 1080 x 2246 pixels. The display is scratch-resistant and coated with Corning Gorilla Glass.
The smartphone is powered by an octa-core processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 with 4 GB of RAM. The device offers 64 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 400 GB via a microSD card.
