Known as the world first mobile browser Opera GX Mobile, specially developed for gamers, is available in beta for Android and iOS and will be available to the general public in a few weeks.
Opera GX Mobile offers custom navigation with the Fast Action Button (FAB) using vibration and haptic feedback. The Quick Action button is divided into two rows: the menu (bottom row), where users can find and open or close tabs, and the Tabs tab (top row). “The FAB is always within reach of the thumb and uses vibration and haptic feedback when interacting with elements in the button,” said Opera.
The mobile browser can be easily synchronized with the desktop browser of Opera for Gamer, which was started in 2019 via the flow function. This can be done by scanning a QR code displayed in the desktop browser with the mobile.
According to Opera, Flow is an encrypted, chat-like area shared by mobile and computer browsers that allows users to send files, links, YouTube videos, photos and personal notes up to 10MB in size that can be accessed through the connection phone or computer.
The Opera GX Mobile has an integrated ad blocker as well as a cookie dialog blocker which, according to the company, eliminates the “surfing experience”. Opera GX Mobile also has a feature called GX Corner.
GX Corner is a one-stop shop for the latest game news, offers and a game release calendar. In the mobile browser, users can find it below the search bar and the browser’s speed dial. “It contains curated and relevant daily news about upcoming games as well as a deals aggregator with links to games on offer. This means that a player only needs their browser to stay up to date with the latest news and offers, ”the company stated.
When it comes to the design of the Opera GX Mobile, it features elements that are said to be inspired by games and gaming devices. It includes four different color themes: GX Classic, Ultra Violet, Purple Haze, and White Wolf.
