NEW DELHI: After entering the wearable market in India, Realme seems ready to enter a new category in the country. Realme is expected to enter the laptop segment in India this year.
The smartphone manufacturer has started a questionnaire in its forum asking users about their laptop preferences. Realme is also asking people if they plan to buy a laptop in the next three months.
This suggests the company may plan to launch its first laptop in India in the third quarter of 2021.
The questionnaire posted on the Realme India forum contains various questions about laptops. In addition to all the general questions, the company also asked a question about the price range. The price range question starts at Rs 30,000 and goes all the way up to Rs 50,000. This means that Realme plans to bring its first laptop in the country under Rs 50,000.
If that’s true, then it’s the new laptop from Relame will compete with Redmi, which sells laptops under Rs 50,000 and entered the Indian market last year.
In addition to smartphones, Realme also sells wearables, audio and IoT products in India.
Recently, Realme launched the Realme 8G smartphone in India. The smartphone comes with a starting price of Rs 14,999 and is available online on Flipkart and Realme.com.
Realme 8 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor with octa core and 4 GB / 8 GB RAM. The smartphone offers 128 GB of internal storage which can be expanded to 1 TB by adding a microSD card.
With the Android 11 operating system, the smartphone is supported by a 5000 mAh battery with 18 W fast charging support.
