The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros may ship with an XDR display later this year

It’s just been a day Apple updated its iPad Pro and iMac lineups and now online reports claim the 14-inch and 16-inch Macbook Pro come next.
The Cupertino-based tech giant is set to launch a new 14-inch and 16-inch giant, according to a report from TrendForce MacBook Pro in the second half of 2021 that will offer a liquid retina XDR display – just like the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
Back in January, a report by MacRumors quoting a reliable tipster and former KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that Apple’s MacBook Pro – expected to be equipped with an M1 processor – would be on the market in the third quarter of 2021 Market should come 14 and 16 inch size options.
Kuo also said that the next two models in the MacBook Pro range will include “the most significant design update for the MacBook Pro in five years.”
The report claimed that both models are said to feature a flat-edged design, similar to the iPhone 12.
Another report by MacRumors, which also cites Kuo’s research report from February, claims Apple plans to roll out the HDMI port and Secure Digital Card (SD) card reader back to its MacBook Pro models in 2021.
The last MacBook Pro model with an SD card slot and HDMI port was launched in 2015. It will be interesting to see how well this reintroduction goes down as it will likely increase the thickness of the devices and over the years the MacBook models have gotten thinner and leaner.
