NEW DELHI: According to an online report Google has started rolling out a new feature for the phone app. As reported by 9to5Google, the tech giant is introducing a new feature for that Google Phone App. This feature specifies who is calling when the phone rings.
The report adds that once this feature is rolled out, you can choose whether to advertise the app Caller identification Every time the phone rings or only when you wear headphones.
Google has been working on this caller ID feature for months. It will come in handy when users work remotely or when their phone is far away. The feature also helps prevent spam and unwanted calls.
To enable the feature, you need to go to Google Phone App> Settings> Caller ID Announcement. The “Announce Caller ID” function is disabled by default and you can choose between “Always”, “Only when using a headset” or “Never”.
While it’s an interesting feature, chances are some users don’t like it. If you don’t want the Google Phone app to read the caller’s phone number or contact name aloud, you can consider the alternative Microsoft Your Phone app. The Your Phone app from Microsoft This option allows you to mirror your phone’s notification to your computer.
In the meantime, the tech giant Google is ready for its annual developer conference Google I / O 2021. The keynote of the event starts at 1 pm (CET), ie at 10.30 pm (IST). It will continue until May 20th. As in previous years, Google is expected to announce its next operating system at the event. It can also launch its custom processor and new devices like the Pixel Buds, Pixel 5a, and more.
