NEW DELHI: Over the years Apple Watch has become a useful device for health and fitness monitoring. Apple already offers important functions such as ECG and SpO2 monitoring in its smartwatch. Now the company is working on adding another important and useful health monitoring feature to its upcoming smartwatch.
Lots of rumors suggest that Apple plans to add glucose monitoring to the Apple Watch 7. Now, however, the company has itself indicated that the feature could be included in the upcoming smartwatch. As reported by 9to5Mac, Apple mentioned the feature in one of its regular polls.
The report found that the survey asked users about apps they installed to track their eating habits, medications, and blood sugar levels. This suggests that the company is considering introducing blood glucose monitoring systems into the smartwatch.
That being said, the other questions asked in the survey focused on health features built into the Apple Watch.
It has been reported in the past that Apple may have been working on a non-invasive glucometer for its watch. The Apple Watch has introduced a big feature every year over the years. Monitoring blood sugar levels is a feature that is eagerly anticipated as the number of people suffering from diabetes around the world has only increased.
On the other hand, Apple rivals Samsung is also considering introducing a similar feature in the Galaxy Watch 4. Earlier this year, it was reported that Samsung, like Apple, is working on incorporating the glucose monitoring feature into its smartwatches.
This new feature from Apple and Samsung does not require blood or streaks for the glucometer.
