Tile offers various bluetooth trackers that users can use to find their lost items. The company also offers a feature called Find Network, which lets anyone with a tile app find someone else’s tile if the lost item is out of Bluetooth range.
Apple AirTag, on the other hand, uses the company’s Find My app to track lost items like keys, wallets, and more. This makes Apple AirTags the direct competitor of Tile’s Bluetooth trackers.
Tile’s complaints stem from the need to pay part of its subscription to Apple so customers can use their own Tile app on iOS Appstore Guidelines. Last year, Tile accused Apple of these unfair practices during a Senate hearing.
