Tinder introduces a new in-app event for users called Vibes. When the event starts in their area, members will be notified via push notification or when they open the Dating app.
Those who take part in the Mood The event will be asked a series of questions on topics ranging from personality traits to pop culture that will help refine the matches for them. The company calls this a “Vibe Check”. If the vibe check is correct, or in other words if the current vibes of the participants match, you can speak to your match via chat or video call. The function is to be introduced at the end of May.
According to Tinder, vibes are displayed on member profiles for 72 hours and they move “fast”. Each event only lasts 48 hours, but more will be held later.
Udi Milo, Vice President of Product at Tinder, said, “We developed Vibes to make profiles as dynamic as our members while offering them more matches. This is the first of many things we’re creating for the Tinder community this year so they can show more of their personality on the App. ”
Tinder also enjoyed hosting in-app events before Swipe night, where more than 13 million members came together last fall to partake in a shared story, the company claims. There was also Swipe Surge to help members score more than 25 percent more matches on average.
