Facebook’s own online chat platform Whatsapp has released a Covid-19 sticker pack. The sticker pack labeled “Vaccines For All” is now available for use on WhatsApp. According to the chat platform, the new stickers were introduced to offer people “a fun and creative way to connect and privately express the joy, relief and hope they feel about the possibilities of Covid-19 Vaccinations offer and show their appreciation for the heroes of health care ”.
In the past few months, Covid-19 cases have peaked, with over 1 lakh new cases reported in India alone. Various state governments have again imposed curfews in high-risk zones. WhatsApp claims that governments in many countries such as Indonesia, South Africa, Argentina, Brazil and India use their helplines to reach citizens with “accurate vaccine information and registrations”. It is also said to have waived the fees for sending messages through the WhatsApp Business API.
In other news, WhatsApp user You may finally get the flexibility to migrate chats between Android and iOS devices. According to a report from WABetaInfo, the website that tracks upcoming changes and features to Facebook’s own app, WhatsApp will soon be rolling out a feature that will allow chat history migration between iOS and Android. The report claims that a future update for iOS and Android will bring the App enables the ability to migrate users’ chat history.
There is currently no predicted date by which this feature will be introduced. However, it should be done along with the support that the same WhatsApp account is used on multiple devices. According to the report, this can happen soon.
