Lenovo has confirmed the start date for the upcoming high-end Android tablet Yoga Pad Pro, which, according to ITHome, is May 24th. The report is based on comments on the company’s Weibo contribution. The company teased them Yoga Pad Pro Tablet on the microblogging platform a few days ago.
In addition to the Yoga Pad Pro, the company plans to launch two more Android tablets: the Lenovo Xiaoxin and the Xiaoxin Pad Pro in 2021. The former should be a mid-range tablet, while the latter should be a premium tablet. Although the launch dates of these two are unknown, the Chinese company is expected to launch these two on May 24th, bringing a trio of Android tablets to market.
It’s not clear if the company plans to bring the tablets to India. Well it should, along with since it has a strong presence in the Android tablet market in the country Samsung.
According to a report by IDC, the global tablet PC segment saw a total of 39.9 million units shipped in the first quarter of 2021, an increase of 55.2%. Apple remains the market leader in tablet PCs with the iPad. The next companies to follow are Samsung, Lenovo, Amazon and Huawei (without honor). Amazon and Lenovo saw the largest year-over-year growth at 143% and 138.1%, respectively. Apple saw 64.3% growth while Samsung saw 60.8% growth.
